These are moulded polypropylene rather than the thin pressed kind, so a plate holds a main course without bending in the middle when it is carried one-handed. Clear plastic also stays out of the way of whatever is on it — there is no pattern competing with the food, which is why clear survives from a buffet lunch to a dinner without looking wrong at either.

At 120 plates it covers a large gathering with spares, or a run of smaller ones from the same box. They are microwave-safe, so a plate of leftovers can be reheated rather than transferred.
