Napkins, runners and napkin rings in cotton, linen and gauze — the soft layer that pulls a tablescape together. Neutral tones layer with everything; a single coloured runner resets the whole table.
Sizing a runner
A runner should overhang each end of the table by about 15 cm (6 in). Cloth dinner napkins finish around 45–50 cm (18–20 in) square; go smaller for cocktails and dessert.
