Wooden Footed Serving Platter
The foot is the point. Raising a platter 10.5 cm off the table turns the thing on it into a display rather than something simply set down — which is the same trick a cake stand uses, applied to a square.
Height also solves a crowded table. A footed platter sits above the plates and glasses around it, so the centre of the table stays usable and the food on it stays reachable from every seat rather than being hemmed in.
It is solid wood, which stays at room temperature — pastry, bread and cheese set down on it do not sweat the way they do on cold ceramic. Three sizes, all 10.5 cm tall, so two at different widths stack visually into one arrangement.
