Solar Crackle Glass Ball Garden Light
A solar garden light built around a crackle-glass ball, which breaks the light into points rather than letting it glow flat. Powered by a 2V/80mA monocrystalline panel, so it charges and switches on by itself.
Monocrystalline panels convert more of a short winter day than the cheaper amorphous type, which is the difference between a light that runs through an evening and one that fades by nine. Two sizes are available — choose at checkout.
Solar means no wiring and no socket, so position it on light rather than on power: a spot that gets several hours of direct sun will run far longer after dark than a shaded one, whatever the panel. Bring it in or shade the panel during a hard frost if you can — solar cells keep working in cold, but a glass ball is the part that suffers from a sudden freeze.
