Perline Beaded Ceramic Plates and Bowls
One detail holds the range together: a row of small raised beads following the rim. It is the only ornament on any of the eight pieces, which is what lets a flat plate and a deep bowl sit beside each other and still read as one set.
The shapes are chosen to do different things. The flat and shallow plates are for a plated course. The volcano plate rises in the centre, so a sauce gathers in the ring around it. The brim-up hat shapes turn the rim upward into a wide lip — a soup bowl with a shelf for bread, in effect, and the most useful shape here for anything with liquid in it.
Underglaze colour, so the surface is sealed and the bead detail will not wear off at the rim where plates knock together. Each is sold individually, which is how a set like this is best assembled — buy the shapes the food needs.
