The two-tone is the point. Each piece is moulded from food-safe, BPA-free plastic with a bright mirror-gold head meeting a matte cranberry handle at one clean line, so a place setting reads as deep wine and warm brass rather than as disposable. The handles are slender and round in section, tapering to a smooth tip, which is what keeps them looking closer to a designer flatware pattern than to a party pack. Forks hold four tines; the knives run a fine serration the length of the outer edge and will manage roast, cake and anything dressed.
