Stainless Steel Children's Plates, Set of 4
Four children's plates in 18/8 stainless steel, 9 x 9 in and 0.6 in deep. No plastic anywhere in them.
Steel is the material to choose for a child's plate once you have watched a plastic one stain, scratch and start holding smells. 18/8 — also called 304 — is the food-grade grade that resists rust rather than delaying it, and it cannot leach because there is nothing in it to leach.
The edges are rolled smooth rather than left as a cut edge, which is the detail that decides whether a steel plate is safe to hand to a small child. They are light enough for a child to carry their own plate to the table, which is most of the point.
They are dishwasher safe and effectively unbreakable, so they also work for camping, picnics and anywhere china would be a mistake. They cannot go in a microwave.
