Ambra Ultra-Thin Crystal Brandy and Sweet Wine Glass

Both sizes do the same job at different scales: a wide bowl that narrows at the rim, so vapour collects above the liquid instead of escaping. With spirits and sweet wines that concentration is most of the flavour.

The 420 ml is the brandy shape — large enough that the bowl can be cupped in a palm, which warms the spirit very slightly and opens it further. The 200 ml suits a dessert wine, a port or a sherry, where the pour is small and a large glass would leave it looking lost.

Both are handmade and ultra-thin, so the wall is fine where the lip meets it and the weight stays at the base rather than the rim.
