Acacia Wood Dessert Server
Acacia does not have a uniform grain, so no two of these come out the same. The dark streaks that run through one plate will not run through the next, which is the argument for wood over porcelain on a table where you want one object to look found rather than bought.
Each is hand-ground rather than machine-turned, so the edge has a slight softness to it and the face is smooth without being polished flat. Wood also does something porcelain cannot: it warms to the room, so a cheesecake or a tart set down on it does not meet a cold surface and sweat underneath.
Use it for dessert, cheese, bread or fruit. Two sizes, so a small one works as a single serving board and the large one carries a whole cake to the table.
- Acacia wood: grain patterns that differ piece to piece
- Hand-ground: a softened edge, not a machine-turned one
- Two sizes: single serving or a whole cake
- Warms to the room: dessert does not sweat on a cold surface
- Round: serves from any side of the table
- Dessert to cheese: equally at home with bread or fruit
