Why does gold make a disposable table look intentional?
A metallic edge catches light where a flat printed colour does not, so the eye reads the rim as a finish rather than as a pattern. On a disposable plate that one detail does most of the work of looking deliberate.
Does gold clash with other colours?
Very little. It sits comfortably against navy, emerald, burgundy, blush and plain white, which is why it is the metallic most event tables default to. Gold with silver on the same table is the combination to avoid.
Can gold-rim pieces go in the dishwasher?
Reusable gold-rim glass and ceramic should be hand washed — dishwasher detergent dulls and eventually strips a gilt rim. Disposable gold-rim plastic is single-use, so the question does not arise.
