Woven Jute Table Runner with Lace Trim
A runner does what a tablecloth cannot: it warms a bare table without hiding it. On wood especially, the grain stays visible either side and the runner becomes a line down the middle rather than a cover over everything.
Jute is the right fibre for that job. It has a coarse, open weave with real texture, so it reads as natural rather than as fabric chosen to match something — and natural beige sits with any colour of plate, which is what lets one runner serve a Christmas table and a summer lunch.
The rope lace trim along the edges stops it looking like sacking. Two lengths: 30 x 180 cm for a six-seat table, 30 x 220 cm for a longer one or for a buffet where the ends hang.
