No tray is included.

Using two different mechanisms is the correct engineering and almost nobody does it. Salt corrodes steel, so a salt mill needs a ceramic burr; peppercorns need to be cracked rather than ground, which steel does better than ceramic. A matched pair with the same mechanism always compromises one of the two.

The internal parts are stainless steel throughout — the rotation shaft, the bottom plate and a copper nut — which is what stops the grind going loose after a year of use. A spare set of ceramic cores is supplied, so the salt mill can be refitted rather than replaced.

Solid rubberwood rather than a veneer or a plastic body. It is a dense close-grained hardwood, which is why it takes a smooth finish and does not swell in a humid kitchen.

Ceramic burr for salt: salt corrodes steel

Steel mechanism for pepper: cracks peppercorns rather than grinding

Spare ceramic cores: refit rather than replace

Stainless internals: the grind does not go loose

Solid rubberwood: dense, and does not swell

No tray: sold as the pair only

Details

Includes

2 mills and a spare set of ceramic cores

Material

Solid rubberwood; stainless steel and ceramic mechanisms

Dimensions

16.5 cm tall, 5 cm base, 4.5 cm top

Care

Wipe clean; do not immerse

Why shop Maison's Kitchen

Free shipping to Canada and the United States, with no minimum order.

30-day returns — send it back for a full refund.

Tracked — every order ships with a tracking link.

https://maisonskitchen.com/products/deroteno-salt-and-pepper-grinder-set-adjustable-ceramic-grinder-salt-mill-stainless-steel-grinder-pepper-mill-rubber-wood-16-5-cm-6-inch-height-bottom-dia-5-cm-tray-is-not-included
